Ethics is not just theory but more on application to daily life. Sometimes you will encounter dilemmas or situations wherein you will feel like your trapped between two things. These situations can happen in your social lives or in your work environment.
The question is what do you do when you encounter difficult situation wherein you have to pick between doing the right thing or the wrong thing, and your being pressured by your boss or friend?
I have provided a link below that leads to the website of differencemakers. They have an earticle that lists a few examples of ethical dilemmas.
As students of ethics, I want you pick one dilemma and give a principled and reasonable solution to the problem.

TumugonBurahinIn the given examples of Ethical Dilemmas, I picked the "Retailing".
For me I will accept the gift wholeheartedly, though I know that we do have policy of not accepting gifts, but sometimes you need to appreciate things that have been offered to you, most especially if it is a personal gift. I don’t see anything wrong on it because the gift came unexpectedly, for me it’s a way of showing respect to them. Because if I reject the gift, I might offend them, and it may cause a problem between us.
But once is enough and I will just remind them that we have the policy of not accepting gifts and as much as possible I don't want other people think that we are abusive.

TumugonBurahinAs i choose one on the examples of ethical dilemmas, i picked the "personnel". If i were in these case, considering that our company has a firm policy with regards to theft, i will talk personally with the said employee and tell him to return the electric drill immediately. If he does not make any step in returning it, then that is the time that i have to tell it to the company even though he will be retiring in 2 months.
We should build our character by doing what is right when no one is actually looking at us.

I choose one on the examples of Ethical Dilemmas, i picked the "RETAIL". For my opinion. I will Accept and Appreciate the gift that given to me with all my Heart, though i know we have a policy of not accepting gifts, also you need to Appreciate the effort of the person who give you a personal gift. Because if not you might Hurt and Offend them very much. But i will remind them that we have a policy in our store, that not all the time we need to accept gift from customers.
In the given examples of Ethical Dilemmas, I picked the "BANK TELLER." As a professional bank teller, one of the things I should have is honesty, this is the most important thing that you must have if you are in the banking industry. If my co-worker needed money, she could've just loaned from the bank. And so, even though we are good friends, I will still tell the supervisor about what she did not because I want to get her in trouble but because it is part of my job. We are working in a bank wherein people trust us with their money so we must not take advantage of it. If I let this kind of situation pass without me doing anything about it, there is a big possibility that it could happen again. Business is business, therefore, personal lives must not get involved with the business at all.

Base on the given examples of Ethical Dilemmas, I chose "Retailing". In my opinion As a professional we have to abide on the policy that has been given to us.It is clear that "no gift giving policy" so regardless of the gift's even if it is a personal gift,I cannot accept it if it comes from the client. It may be considered as "bribe".You can always have a choice by saying no. and explaining to them the reason politely, Tell them that you truly appreciated the gift and you are very thankful, but it is your job that at stake. I am sure that they can understand and you cannot hurt their feelings. Being consistent on what you are stand for is the key to surpass all the temptations. Gift giving is not unethical as long that it is practice in a right way.

TumugonBurahinIn the given examples of Ethical Dilemmas, I chose "RETAILING". you must accept and appreciate the gift and the effort of your friend it means that you have a true friends that he/she will never forget all about you . though in our company having a policy of no accepting gifts you must to follow it but in your working place only. you must remember that you have a responsible to your job but your job does not any concern or business in your own personal life.
in the given situations or Ethical Dilemmas, i select "ACCOUNTING". Upon hearing those words from my supervisor of course, I'll do my job. I will issue the cheques he is asking for, but I'll just check it first without his knowledge if those stories are true or not because if that is so I would also become liable to our boss. I do have my own thinking and knowledge and I belive I have my own decision. And after haering those words with her girlfriend. I'll ask my supervisor first without hesitations if is true if the clients are the one who really benifited .

TumugonBurahinPresident Magsaysay and his wearing of the barong tagalog I consider is the stepping stone of the dispute between the nationalist and westernized Filipinos. Though more popularized during the Marcos'regime, The national dress barong tagalog and terno was represented by the former first couple and was able to make a statement of being nationalistic but there is a downfall of Imelda marcos identifying herself with the national imaginary wearing a terno in the court of newyork by embodying the nation with the image of corruption. but this is i suppose empaled the stereotyped men as the only bearers of nation, As Imelda was an icon of charisma beauty elegance and intelligence that can be considered as the modern woman, empowered and endowed with equal attributes as men.
the discourse of Who is to be the bearer of the nation i say should and must not be a source of argument, everyone is capable that solely does not depend on the dress he/she wears.
In Ethics Dilemma examples, I choose “RETAILER” in my opinion; I wouldn’t accept the gift because our company has the policy of “accepting gifts are not allowed”. As a professional I/We should follow the rules of our company. Even that gift is for our “friendship” I will return it and say in a nice manner that I am not allowed accepting gifts from anyone. I will also say thank you but no. Saying no as an answer is not unethical especially if it’s for the good. Maybe that gift is just a bait for you.
TumugonBurahinIn the given examples of Ethical Dilemmas, I picked "Teacher".
TumugonBurahinSurely i would help that student but not in a way that i would falsify his/her grades. i will help him/her by giving extra work related to the subject and i will still accept his/her assignments that are not yet turned in so his/her grades get higher. because it will not only keeps my dignity and it will reflect on my reputation as a respectful and dignified Teacher for being truthful and fair to all my students.
In the given examples i chose to 'RETAILER'
TumugonBurahinfor me accepting gifts does not show as a bad thing even though as the examples about the rules of the company not to accept any gifts but on my opinion accepting gifts show more respect for the people who make effort to give gifts we can appreciate every a little or small offering that gave from friends.
