Finals Reaction Paper (Talastas, Gen Psych, Ethics)

Only for those who attended the BA Immersion in LCC-C.

Depending on your subject under my authority, you are to make a "Photo Documentary" with themes under our subjects.

Generally you were tasked to take pictures.  Include two with only your object of study but without you in the picture.  And two with you in the picture.  Each picture will have a caption at the bottom describing the scene.  Total of four pictures.

At the very end you will place a short discussion explaining what you have observed in the immersion regarding your objects of study.

General Psychology: Your theme is "Worker Behavior".  Your object/s of study for the pictures: Choose among your classmates (get the classmate to sign a consent for you to document him/her).

Ethics: Your theme is either "Environment Ethics" or "Interpersonal Relations" or "Work Ethics". Your object/s of study for the pictures: Choose among your classmates (get the classmate to sign a consent for you to document him/her).

Talastas:  Your theme is "Magandang Samahan sa Trabaho, Tulong ng Mahusay na Komunikasyon." Your object/s of study for the pictures: Choose among your classmates, or teachers (get the classmate to sign a consent for you to document him/her).

Discussion:

In the pictures are BSBA officers.  We were at the bus at that time.  Because of their being reliable and responsible, we were able to travel safely to our destination.  During the immersion, activities flowed smoothly and there were no instance of quarrels among the officers.  Even if problems arise, they simply deal with it...

ETHICS READING TO SUPPLEMENT THE FILM

In a whole yellow paper:

Draw a diagram showing the four character types discussed in the article.

Name 1 classmate and 1 celebrity or fictional character who falls in that category and say why you placed those people as under that character type.

Submit on Friday, October 4, 2013.

Search the meaning of the following foreign language ethical expressions:

Talastas:  Your theme is "Pamumuno sa Tulong ng Mahusay Komunikasyon." Your object/s of study for the pictures: Choose among your classmates, teachers, hotel/resort managers, or tour guides (get the classmate to sign a consent for you to document him/her).

Discussion:

(as a suggestion in these pictures, the students seem to have "kanya-kanya" behavior as seen in the lobby and at the bonfire, so Katherine in this sample should write about kanya-kanya attitude and why it is wrong attitude.  How it impacts on the students as a community.)

In the pictures, it can be seen that the students separate themselves into small groups.  Such as in Picture 1.  Instead of socializing with other people, they stay only with the people that they know.  This makes a negative impact on the LCC-C student community because...

Ethics Project: Dante’s Allegory

For Midterm, we are studying human act itself.  Dante Alighieri wrote three books each detailing the literary and philosophical visualizations of sin and virtue.  These books were

“Inferno”,  “Purgatorio” and “Paradiso”.

Since we are not meeting August 2 and 9 2013, you have ample time to accomplish this monumental task.

For your project:

1. RACE TO GET AN AREA OF DANTE'S WORLDS

Form a group of 6-7 members (name your group).

Pick an AREA of Dante below.

On the COMMENTS

Write your Ethics section schedule (AM or PM).

Followed by your group name.

Then your chosen area.

Then your group members.

FIRST GROUP IN A SECTION TO WRITE THEIR COMMENTS GETS THE AREA.  ONLY ONE GROUP PER AREA PER CLASS SCHED.

2. MAKE AN IMPRESSIVE VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF YOUR AREA

Research about your area.  Sample, if you chose Purgatory 2.  Research on Dante's Purgatorio

It should show transition (scene change) from one place to the next.

At the end, there should be a reference where you got your information.

If you chose an area of hell,  it should express short details and explanations on the 1) location, 2) sin or sins punished in that area, 3) the corresponding punishment for the sin, 4) one – two historical characters in the area (why are they there?).

If you chose an area of purgatory, it should express short details and explanations on the 1) location, 2) sin or sins punished in that area, 3) the corresponding punishment for the sin, 4) the corresponding virtue to replace the sin, 5) one – two historical characters in the area (why are they there?).

If you chose an area of heaven, it should express short details and explanations on the 1) location, 2) the name of that particular sphere, 3) the virtue of people who get to that sphere, 4) one – two historical characters in the area (why are they there?).

Outputs can be one of any of  the samples, or think of your own unique output.
Samples: a very complex animated powerpoint or prezi presentation, a set of diorama's, a videoed play, a movie maker video, an e-book pdf.

Think outside the box guys.

Ethics: Dilemmas

Ethics is not just theory but more on application to daily life.  Sometimes you will encounter dilemmas or situations wherein you will feel like your trapped between two things.  These situations can happen in your social lives or in your work environment.  

The  question is what do you do when you encounter difficult situation wherein you have to pick between doing the right thing or the wrong thing, and your being pressured by your boss or friend?

I have provided a link below that leads to the website of differencemakers.  They have an earticle that lists a few examples of ethical dilemmas.

As students of ethics, I want you pick one dilemma and give a principled and reasonable solution to the problem.
