Using grammatically correct and legible sentences, answer the following statements sensibly and objectively (20 pts each = 5 pts sentence construction, 5 pts creativity/insight, 5 pts objective assessment/recall of the topic concepts, 5 pts evaluative discussion).


Borrowing from famous characters in film and literature, Name three who best represents 1 skill and 2 characteristics of a critical thinker.  Give a short explanation using a descriptive proof for each of your claims (3-6 sentences).

BONUS – (ONLY FOR THOSE ABLE TO TAKE THE EXAM TODAY) NO NEED TO ANSWER NO 2 - Perform abstraction on the following concepts:  Hotel, Tourism, Traveler.  Use the first term in 1 sentence explanation.  The second term in a 1 sentence report.  And the third in an argument (3 sentences).

Pick one word in the list and create 5 definitions for it that violates the rules of a definition (yes you will make wrong definitions which are wrong based on the rules). (5-8 sentences).  For HRM – Baking, Sautéing, Frying.  For Tourism – Inn, Wonder, Port.  For BSE/BEED – Evaluation, Condition, Motivation.  For BA – Franchise, Investment, Debit.  For CS – Modem, Software, Port.

2. The essence of a computer is that it's electronic and it can use programs to run and process data that I put into it.  The computer can help me make a document for school, but it will not make the document without my input.  And even if I put data, nothing happens without a program or software.  The accident of a computer is that some are microsoft, some mac.  They also vary in colors, shapes, and program content.
3. Angel can only edit his document in a mac computer with ms access.  His computer is not working.  Angel will be borrowing or editing at a computer shop.
4. The first computer was not electronic.  It is called an abacus and was first used in China to help people compute.  As technology developed, the first electronic computers started.
